HOWE MOTORSPORTS
Over 25 years in the sport, Owner/Driver Jim Howe Jr, is a second generation Drag Racer, growing up at his fathers side, in the garage, watching and learning from one of the best in the sport. Jim Jr was able to take his fathers 30 plus years of experience and build on it from there. His Father no stranger to the winner circle in the NHRA DIV 3 ranks, made sure that he instilled the common sense and racing know how in his son, before allowing Jim Howe Jr to make his first NHRA license passes at age 16.
In 1989 Jim Howe Jr began his racing career, winning the Milan Dragway High School Nationals in a 1965 Chevelle (Jim sr's original race car) after making several trips down the 1/4 mile in the 11 second range and going to several finals, it was time to kick it up a notch. Jim Howe Jr began racing a 1988 IROC CAMARO that Bob Mandell of Bob's Profab constructed for the family, with a need for speed and a passion to win, Jim sr and jr campaigned the car in Both fast brackets and Super Comp for the next year. In 1991 Jim Howe Sr seen the writing on the wall and a opening to advance even more in the sport. They needed a more consistant race car, so they sold the Camaro and bought a S&W dragster, Jim Howe Jr came out that season swinging. Winning several races, both locally and nationally by 1993 that car had paid for itself several times over and was threat at any race it showed up at. By 1994 Jim Howe jr, elected to step up and run IHRA TOP DRAGSTER and had a brand new car built for himself with the winning from the old car.
Fast forward several years, after winning several IHRA NATIONAL TITLES in Top Dragster, the outlaw street car bug BIT Jim, playing around in the late 90's with a street car and bracket racing, by 2005 Jim had made up his mind, the Small Tire Outlaw cars was where his heart was.
After several metemorphis's a 1968 camaro Jim bought out of Houston Tx in pieces was transformed into what it is today. A fire breathing, ear drum breaking, 2500 horsepower Outlaw limited street, Drag radial car.
One of Jim's favorite quotes is "People never remember where you came from they only see you for what and where you are today." But.......... Rest assured Jim has not forgot where he came from. From humble beginings to where he is today, it wasn't without help.
The ones who have made it all possible all these years in one way or another.
